Creekhaven Innkeepers

One Year In

It’s been slightly over a year since we decided to chase our dream of owning a Texas bed & breakfast. It’s strange because that time has both simultaneously felt like a whirlwind and an eternity. But every minute has been like living a dream come true. It’s been a year of hard work and good times. In fact, it’s been so busy that it’s taken us 13 months to write our first blog post. Plus, we’re not entirely how or what to blog about. Wherever our blogging leads I’m sure it will be fluid, much like our plans at Creekhaven.

Creating Memorable Texas Hill Country Getaways

We’re so grateful we have such a wonderful property to share with our amazing guests. In our first year we have been dedicated to improving an already amazing bed & breakfast. Year one at Creekhaven included a lot of large and small projects. We began things by converting the innkeeper quarters into 2 new guest rooms, the Creek House and the Ranch Room. Adding these rooms brought our total number of guest rooms to 16. We think that makes the us the largest “B&B” in Wimberley, and we’ve also been told that we are the oldest.

When the previous owners took over the property in 2003, they performed a full remodel and greatly enhanced the property. We hope to do the same and take Creekhaven to the next level. It’s a lofty goal, but we want to make Creekhaven Inn & Spa on of the best bed and breakfast inns in the country. The land that Creekhaven sits on is magical, and the town of Wimberley is an quaint Texas hill country getaway location, so we have an amazing canvas to work with. We have a lot of long-term goals that include some construction and complete remodeling of rooms, but many of those goals are going to take time to act on. In the meantime, we have some great projects and upgrades that we will be working on for 2020.

Enhancing Guest Experience Through Our Health & Wellness Focus

As a family, we are on a health and wellness journey and we are bringing that focus to Creekhaven. We feel we have a responsibility to provide for our guests as we would for our family. When you visit, we want you to experience a stress-free environment. There many forms of stress; environmental, emotional, and even nutritional. Fortunately, the beautiful environment of Cypress Creek helps eliminate the first two. We’re focused on reducing nutritional stress as well. In our home we’re using a lot of organic ingredient in our cooking, and we’re doing that at Creekhaven as well. Many of our home-made items may not be good for your waistline, but you be rest assured that we’re using good quality ingredients. Many of our upcoming blog posts will focus on our health and wellness journey as it’s something that we are very passionate amount.

Join Our Journey

We know there are so many getaway options for Texans to experience. So providing a memorable getaway is our top priority. Often, we celebrate special events such as anniversaries, birthday, family getaways only to forget what we did on our last special day. We want to provide a getaway that stays with you. So instead of saying “what did we do for our anniversary last year?”, you say “We had such a great time in Wimberley at Creekhaven we need to go back.”

We have been amazed and grateful at the number of people that have been back two or more times in our first year. That is the best feedback that we can get to know if our efforts are working. We have a lot improvements in our plans and we have put together a wonderful staff to help us execute on that plan. We could not do it without them and having great people by your side is the key to providing a memorable getaway. Helena and I will continue to strive to create one of the best bed and breakfast retreats in the Texas Hill Country. We hope you decide to come and see what we’re doing next!
