Staff Spotlight: Jesseca Smith, Esthetician

Today I want to introduce you to Jesseca “Jesse” Smith. Jesse was instrumental in the spa’s launch and has helped us structure many of the services and the back end operations of our spa. Jesse started her career at the makeup counter at JC Penny’s in the early 90s. She then opened several spas in Dallas and developed her own cosmetics line before earning her esthetician’s license in 2004.

One thing that makes Jesse so wonderful is she is truly an educator and seeks to not only teach, but to continue to learn the science and best techniques for skin care. She is very warm and welcoming, with a truly collaborative nature which she encapsulates in her motto, “We only make it if we all do.” She actively mentors estheticians here at the inn and across the industry and has worked hard to build an open community of women supporting women.

For our guests, Jesse says she strives to give them what they never knew they wanted, to really listen to what they need, and to look for opportunities to be of service. As she says, “it’s your time,” and she wants to help you make the most of it. Besides being a Licensed Esthetician, Jesse is a Reiki Master and skilled at cosmetic chemistry. This gives her a unique and holistic point of view when delivering treatments for our guests. She has developed several face mask formulas using fresh, organic ingredients that we use alongside our evanhealy products for our signature facial.

We are so glad Jesse could move back to Wimberley. She, like many others, lost her home in the deadly floods of 2015 and finally returned to us a couple of years ago. She is currently working on becoming a Master Educator and is developing several resources to support and educate her fellow estheticians on holistic skin care. When she’s not in school, Jesse is a talented artist and painter, who often does commission work for book illustrations and private pieces.
